The Evil Eye
The evil eye is a common old wives tale that is believed by many different cultures. The evil eye is supposedly able to cause injury or bad luck on the person who it is directed for reasons such as envy or dislike.
It is also known as "Mal de ojo" by Mediterranean cultures and the symptoms of suffering from the evil eye have been known to include dying, stomach cramps and constant crying. It most commonly affects young children - however it also can affect female adults and is less likely to affect males.
